Retirement is meant as a time of enjoyment. Going to traveling to see the world. Visiting grandkids. Living in a second home.



You’ve worked hard over your lifetime and it is now time to enjoy retirement. Now for happiness it is what you create or design as Jim Rohn stated. The time to design your retirement is before retirement.



Most people spend more time designing or planning their vacation than their retirement years. The reason why I believe is that a vacation is short term and you can see the fruits of the time and effort quickly. You plan the summer vacation right now here in January and you reap the reward in the summer. However, this is only a week or two. Wouldn’t it make more sense to spend more time planning retirement years than vacation weeks?



This is why I titled this article “Happiness in Retirement: You Deserve It!" Because you deserve it. Now to reach that happiness you need to plan your retirement years. Many take the ho-hum attitude and just retire when I retire. This is not what I want for you Baby Boomers. Plan for something great and grand. Something to work towards.




Finding happiness in retirement is entirely up to you. No one else can tell you what makes you happy. No one else can tell if you don’t do something you won’t be happy. Of course there will be a price that you have to pay to reach this happiness. It will require steps in increasing your savings and lowering expenses.



Maybe you can’t buy a new car every two or three years. Maybe it is not going on a vacation one year because you are trying to eliminate debt so you can retire. This is the price you pay to accomplish what you want. Making retirement savings one of your key activities to retire successfully is important.



Everyone has their own definition of happiness in retirement so please take the time and write down a list of things you want to do. Charities or organizations you would like to help. Places you want to go. Activities you do with your
